Process & Line Performance

Process Optimization

Structured, data-driven work to bring bottle performance back within spec and hold it there.

When This Support Is Needed

Bottle performance is drifting outside spec on a line that was previously stable — top-load, wall distribution, or visual defects trending in the wrong direction without an obvious single cause.

What D.E.L.L. PET Can Help Address

Identifying which process variables are contributing to the drift
Reviewing preform, blow, and cooling parameters against current output
Distinguishing a material change from a process or equipment cause
Rebuilding a stable, repeatable operating window

Technical Support Approach

Work starts with the current process data and a review of recent changes — material, mold, or equipment. From there, D.E.L.L. PET works with your team to isolate the variables affecting bottle performance and test adjustments under controlled conditions before locking in a new operating standard.

A Documented Result

Sidel Universal 34, carbonated soft drink application: several variables were contributing to excess bottle expansion.

Fix: Heat profile changed; 18 fewer lamps used
Start-up: Parameters adjusted for the same bottle at start-up and while running
Line efficiency: +15%
Watt-hours per bottle: 4.2 → 3.42
Scrap & labeler issues: Reduced

Correct filler/blow-molder synchronization and machine setup can save as much as $170,000 per machine. Reducing waste at start-up alone can save $12,000–$24,000 per machine per year.
